When planning a party, keep this in mind; the more time you spend on the details before the day of the event, the more relaxing and enjoyable time everyone will have at the gathering!
When serving food at a Children's Party, there are a few basics to remember. First, be sure to check if any of your guests have food allergies (example peanuts, chocolate), or special diets such as vegan or vegetarian and provide some alternatives for them if you plan to serve something they don't eat. Keep in mind that other kids might prefer the alternates as well, so make extra just in case. You may consider eliminating the "forbidden foods" altogether from the menu so no one feels awkward or left out.
When you want to "think outside the box", juicebox, that is, dig out your old punch bowl from the garage, basement, or closet, or if you don't have one, go to the "Dollar Store" and get a big plastic over sized bowl add a dipper and make some good old fashioned punch! Your child or children could help you make it extra special, by freezing a bowl or other container of water with a ring of orange slices and or cherries or another of your favorite fruits in it the night before. Then just get creative, use 2 cans or bottles of your favorite 100% juice, add a couple 2 liter's of Seltzer (less sweet), Ginger Ale, or Lemon Lime soda. You could also add some rainbow sherbet if you like. Buy some plain white plastic cups and write the children's names on them with brightly colored permanent markers and some simple designs like Flowers, Stars, Sun, Peace Signs, Stick Figures, etc. They will love it and not waste cups and drinks trying to figure out which one is theirs. Just make sure you spell their names right, attention to detail like that really let the kids know you care. You could make this an activity by switching to plain white paper cups and using washable markers that they can decorate themselves!
